We had headed over to Paeroa on the Saturday and got the pit spot setup, bike scrutineered and myself signed.
Tryed to get a decent nights sleep in The Little Red Van, but that didn't really work out to well. I reckon I got 2 hours sleep max! I rolled out of bed at about 6:45 and headed to Macca's for my B&E McMuffin combo and large latte, only to get one sip of the coffee before it fell off the pit table and spilled all over the ground!!!

Rnd 1 Hampton Downs
This round started on the friday before for us. We had done the ride day 2 weeks previous and found we where about 2 seconds a lap slower trhan last year running the near stock K3, so we needed to get a setup and as many laps as we could under our belt. We made some steps towards a better lap time, but it was still along way off where I wanted to be. I just couldn't get the entry and corner speed I wanted!

| 20/02/2011 - Mobil 1 Battle of the Streets Paeroa. |
I had been looking forward to racing at the hacksaw circuit again after last year especially as the starting grid would go by practice times from the two morning sessions. Also we would be racing the GSXR here too!
I was packed up and on the road by 11am, I wanted to be there nice and early to get the same spot as last year. I got there just after 12:30 at setup in the same posse as last year! Shane was straight across from us.

| 13/02/2011 - Bike Rider Magazine Summer Series Rnd 3. |
Sunday morning rolls around and despite the weather forecast it was dry. I head out to the track after the ritual stop at Macca's for breakfast!
We set up with Paul Taylor slap bang in the middle of the pits and get signed in and the bikes scruteneered.
F1/Superbike was first up for qualifying and I went out and had pretty much a clear session and put down a 1:37.834, which is not far off my PB on the GSXR. This put me 5th on the grid! more... |

We did the MotoTT trackday on Saturday. Lucky, as the GSXR had a little electrical problem which I eventually traced back to the battery terminal! So I managed one session on the SV and one on the GSXR after spending all day trying to find the cause of said problem!

28/12/2010 - Taupo Road Race Spectacular 2010. |
I drove up from Wanganui after the racing on Boxing Day, getting into Taupo at around 10:30pm. I meet Kiwifruit and Jrandom at a shindig, had a beer and then headed back to the E street Hotel and bed down for the night.
I woke at about 8am and headed to Maccas for breakfast then straight out to the track and started setting up. It was overcast with a slight breeze. Stevie showed and begged for me to let him pit in our spot. I found out later that this meant being his mechanic and Mother!

26/12/2010 - Wanganui Street Races 2010.

I was on the road at 8:30 Xmas morning after opening pressies with the Whanau. Stopped in at Peter's to pick up the SV, but he had one look at the van and decided to take her on the trailer. I got to Wanganui about 1pm so had a look around the place. The gates to the pit complex opened around 2pm and I setup in the corner with Darrin, Deano, Dan, Phil, Archie and their family/crews. I signed in, got the GSXR and my gear checked

I got to Hampton Downs around 7ish and set myself up about 50 meters away from pit lane. I like to try and get as close as I can to the dummy grid with F3 and Formula Auckland running back to back.
I managed to get the gazebos up, unload, setup, sign in and was in the process of getting the gsxr scrutineered when Peter arrived. He had the SV unloaded for me to take thru straight after and then it was off to get my helmet checked and surrender my race licence for the day!

We decided about a week before that I'd go down Friday and do the test day on Saturday seeing as it was only $50. Pete was unable to leave Taupo until 4pm so it was just me. Team DHR where very keen to get to Hampton Downs as we had never raced there before.
Saturday afternoon I decided to change the front over to a wet tyre as it looked very likely it would be raining come morning. Sunday morning comes and it's not raining, over cast but no rain.
We setup our site as close to the track entrance as possible seeing as we had F3 and F1 back to back. Then I set about changing the fronts of both bikes for qualifying. That done it was off to sign in, get the bikes scrutineered and then finally helmet check. more...

After the last round being cancelled due to flooding on the track we where very keen to go racing. Saturday morning rolls around and it's wet from the early morning rain but the sky is blue in places with a brisk wind. Could it be the last round was to be a dry one with no need for the brand new Metzler wets? Fat chance!! more... |

We arrived nice and early to a cold wet track with slowly drying conditions. It was much the same as Saturday of Rnd2, not really wet enough for wets but not really dry enough for slicks. We went for wets for qualifying on both bikes, and managed to get 5th on the grid in both F1 and F3. more... |
